Sashastra Seema Bal Ministry Of Home Affairs (Govt. Of India) is going to announce Group C Employment Notification for Sub-Inspector (Telecom.) / Sub- Inspector (Pioneer) / ASI (Telecom.) / Head-Constable (Electrician) / Head-Constable (Workshop) / Head-Constable (Telecom.) / Constable (Telecom.) / ASI (Steno) / Constable (Vety) Posts, Applications are invited from male Indian citizens who fulfill the eligibility conditions for filling up the following Group 'C" posts in the Sashastra Seema Bal. The posts are temporary, but likely to be permanent in the pay scale as mentioned below against each post plus usual and admissible allowances as applicable to Central Government employees from time to time. In addition, ration allowance; medical assistance, free uniform, free accommodation, free leave pass etc. are admissible to SSB personnel. The posts have all India posting liability and selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India and even abroad.

Age Limit - Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Group C Age Qualification SI /ASI (Telecom)/ ASI (Steno) Posts for 18 to 25 years. SI (Pioneer) Posts 20 to 25 years, HC (Telecom.)/ Constable (Telecomm)/ Constable (Vety) 18 to 23 years, HC (Elect.) 18 to 25 years, HC (Workshop) 18 to 24 years

Education Qualification

For SI (Telecom.) - Degree in Electronics Or Telecommunication Or Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized University Or Institute Or equivalent.

For SI(Pioneer) - (1) Should have passed 10+2 (With science subjects) or equivalent from a recognized Board/ University. (2) Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institution

For ASI (Telecom.) - Matric with Diploma in Electronics Or Telecommunication from an Institution recognized by the State Government or equivalent Or (ii) 10+2 Or Intermediate with aggregate marks of fifty percent with selective subject being Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized Board or Institution or equivalent.

For ASI (Steno) -(a) Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination Or Intermediate or equivalent examination of a recognized Board / University Or (b) Matriculation with three years "Diploma in Secretarial Practice or Modern Office Practice or Commercial Practice from a recognized Board of Technical Education. (c) Should have basic Knowledge in computer application

For Constable (Telecom.)/Vety - Metric or equivalent with Science from a recognized Board/ Institute or equivalent with Science Const. (Vety.) Desirable One year experience in treatment of different species of animals in a recognized Veterinary Hospital.

For Head-Constable (HC - Electrician) - (i) 10+2 or Matric or equivalent from a recognized board. (ii) Certificate / Diploma in the trade of Electrician from a Govt. recognized Institution / Industrial Training Institutes.

For Head-Constable (Workshop) - (i) Matriculation with Diploma in Automobile Engineering or two years certificate in National Trade of Mechanic Motor Vehicle from a recognized Industrial Training Institute or Institution under the Crafts- man training scheme of the Ministry of Labour. (ii) Two years experience in authorised Garage desirable (iii) Must possess valid driving license for heavy vehicles.

For Head-Constable (Telecom.) - Matric or equivalent with two years I.T.I. Certificate in Electronics Or Intermediate/ 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board or institution or equivalent.

Physical Standard

For SI (Telecom), ASI (Telecom), SI(P), HC (Telecom), HC (Elect.), HC (Workshop) / CT (Tele) / Vety

Height - (i) 170 Cms for all except the categories shown below
  • Relaxation in height 165 Cms in the case of candidates belonging to Garhwal, Kumaon, HP, Leh & Ladakh, Kashmir Valley, North Eastern states & Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Sikkimese etc
  • 162.5 Cms for Tribal/ Adivasi including Mizo & Naga
Chest - (i) 80 Cms (Un-Expanded), 85 Cms (Expanded) for all except the categories shown below
  • Men belonging to Garhwal, Kumaon, HP, Leh & Ladakh, Kashmir Valley, North Eastern states & Dogras, Gorkhas, Marathas, Sikkimese, etc. - 78-83 Cms
  • Tribal/ Adivasi including Mizo and Naga.76- 81 Cms
Weight - Proportionate to height as per Medical standard

Eye Sight - (i) Distant Vision- Should not be less than 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other i.e. 6/6 for right eye in right handed individual and 6/6 for left eye in left handed individual without glasses.

Height - (i) 167.5 Cms except the categories shown below
  • Relaxation in height 165 cms in the case of candidates belonging to the areas of Garhwal, Kumaon, HP, Leh & Ladakh, Kashmir Valley, North Eastern states. & Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Sikkimese etc.
  • 162.5 cms for Scheduled Tribes including Mizo & Naga
Chest
  • 81 Cms (Un-Expanded), 86 Cms (Expanded)
  • Men belonging to Garhwal, Kumaon, HP, Leh & Ladakh, Kashmir Valley, North Eastern states & Dogras, Gorkhas, Marathas, Sikkimese, etc. : 78-83 Cms
  • The Minimum standard so far as it relates to chest measurements may be relaxed from 81 Cms Un-expanded and 86 Cms Expanded to 78 Cms Un-expanded and 83 Cms Expanded respectively for Scheduled Tribes

Selection Procedure - The final selection of the candidates will be made in order of merit in each Category. The qualifying percentage of marks will be as under

For SI (Telecommn), ASI (Telecommn) , SI (P), HC (Telecommn) HC (Electrician) & HC (Workshop)Ct.(Telecommn)
  • General & Ex-Servicemen - 50 %
  • SC/ST/OBC - 40 %
For ASI (Steno)
  • General & Ex-Servicemen - 40 %
  • SC/ST/OBC - 35 %
For Constable (Vety)
  • General & Ex-Servicemen - 35 %
  • SC/STs & OBC - 33 %
Application Fee - For All Posts - Application fee will be Rs. 50/- Non- Refundable for candidates belonging to General and OBC categories. They shall attach the Crossed/Non-refundable Bank Draft or Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of authority mentioned at Col. No.1 & 2 of Para No.11 below. No fee will be charged from SC/ST/Ex- Servicemen.
