Secondary Education Department, Assam Government is Published a Notification for Conducting Special Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Exam for the Recruitment of Graduate Teacher (Hindi & Sanskrit) vacancies in Secondary Schools. The Government in the Secondary Education Department vide the Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised) Service (Amendment) Rules, 2012 has prescribed the amended qualifications for direct recruitment to the post of graduate teachers. Accordingly the first Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) for Secondary Education in Assam was conducted in the year, 2013 by the Government of Assam, in Secondary Education Department. Hindi and Classical (Sanskrit only) Assistant Teachers at Secondary level are still lying vacant, therefore to fill up the existing vacancies, Govt. of Assam has decided to hold a Special Teachers’ Eligibility Test to recruit Hindi and Classical Graduate Teachers (Sanskrit only) tentatively in the month March/April 2017

Assam Teachers Eligibility Test (TET)
Age Limit - Age of the candidate should not be above 38 years as on 01.01.2017. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Educational Qualification - Graduate teacher has been prescribed as BA/B.Sc/ B.Com with 50% marks with B.T./ B.Ed. degree from any recognized university.
Hindi Teacher - Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized university or B.A with Hindi as one of the subject with 50% marks and B.T / B. Ed. degree from any recognized University.
Classical Teacher (Sanskrit) - Shastri with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized University or B.A with Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T/ B.Ed degree from any recognized University.
Classical Teacher such as Arabic, Urdu, Persian etc - MM with 50% marks with degree qualification from any recognized University or B.A with Arabic as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T./B.Ed. from any recognized University.
Classical Teacher (Assamese Language, Manipuri Language) - B.A with Honours/ Major in concerned subject with 50% marks and B.T. /B.Ed. degree from any recognized University
Educational Qualification - The Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised) Service (Amendment) Rules, has prescribed the following qualification for direct recruitment to the post of Post graduate teachers. The candidates must have Masters degree (MA / M.Sc./M.Com) with minimum 50% marks in relevant subject with B.T./B.Ed degree from any recognized University. However all intending candidates may note that B.T / B. Ed. Degree as a mandatory prerequisite eligibility qualification for Higher Secondary teachers stands relaxed up to 01-01-2017 in accordance with the Government Office Memorandum No ASE.324/2009/138 Dated 13th September 2012 issued by the Government of Assam in Secondary Education Department and accordingly candidates who do not possess B.T / B. Ed. Degree may also appear in the TET for Higher Secondary Education and participate in the interview if they come successfully in the Teachers’ Eligibility Test.
Application Fee - Assam Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) Examination for Hindi and Sanskrit Subjects Applicants have to pay Rs. 400/
Selection Process - The advertisement for the posts of graduate teachers shall be issued by the concerned School Selection Committee. The School Selection Committee shall hold interview and prepare a panel of school wise select list and subject to approval of the District Approval Committee, the appointment to the post of teacher shall be made from the selection list as per merit and subject to following government prescribed Reservations. However, no oral marks shall be there in interview stage.
