Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is going to announce Notification 2017 for Recruitment of Tentative vacancies for Stenographer Grade ‘C,Tentative vacancies for Stenographer Grade’D, Exam will hold an All India Open Competitive Examination for Recruitment of Grade 'C' ( Group 'B' Non-Gazetted ) and Stenographer Grade 'D'(Group 'C' Non-Gazetted) Exam Date in 31.07.2017, A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

Educational Qualifications - Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.

Application fee - Payment of application fee is exempted for all women candidates and
candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Persons with disability and Ex- servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders. The candidates submitting application offline (paper mode) should pay the fee of Rs 100/- by means of “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)”only. Recruitment Fee Stamps should be pasted on the application form in the space earmarked for the purpose and got cancelled from the Counter of Post Office of issue with the date stamp of the Issuing Post Office in such a manner that the impression of the cancellation stamp partially overflows on the Application Form itself, taking care at the same time that the impression is clear and distinct to facilitate the identification of date and Post Office of issue at any subsequent stage. After getting the Recruitment Fee Stamps cancelled from the Post Office, the candidate must submit their application to the concerned Regional Office/Sub Regional Offices of the Commission in the usual manner after completing other formalities. Application with CRFS not cancelled by the post office will be rejected outright.

Mode of Selection - Candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination. Candidates who qualifyin the skill test will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination. Allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the option exercised by them.

Written Examination - The written examination will consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only. The questions except in Part III will be set both in English & Hindi. Time duration for general candidates will be 2 Hours and 2 Hours 40 mins for Visually Handicapped candidates. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.Candidates who obtain the qualifying marks in the Written Examination as may be prescribed by the Commission will only be called for the Skill Test.

Skill Test in Stenography - Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Stenographers Grade C, D Post Candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination. The Skill Test will be of qualifying nature and and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the skill test for different categories of candidates. The Skill Test will be held at the Commission‘s Regional/Sub Regional Offices or at other Centres as may be decided by the Commission. There is no exemption from skill test for any category of candidates. Candidates who qualify in the skill test will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of their performance in the Written Examination.
